Bonbonetti looks forward to significant investments. Bonbonetti becomes a European brand. The last big Hungarian chocolate factory, Bonbonetti Group announced the beginning of a strategic partnership with the world’s 15th most significant confectionery company, Roshen Confectionery Corporation this spring.

After having received the regulatory approval from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine that was needed for the European expansion of Roshen Confectionery Corporation, Bonbonetti can officially become part of the Roshen Group.

Roshen that employs more than 10.000 people and reaches almost 1,2 billion USD turnover is one of the world’s most prominent confectionary companies with a strong market background.

The corporation produces more than 200 types of confectionery products: chocolates, candies, biscuits, wafers in 7 confectionery factories. Its total production capacity is over 400.000 tons per year.

As a sequel of this spring’s production cooperation within the strategic partnership, Roshen has already made decision about some production-related investments.

From its 1 billion HUF investment in domestic production development, the new investor expects Bonbonetti’s competitiveness to grow.

The cooperation strengthens Bonbonetti brand’s domestic position as well as its further expansion especially in Europe besides the almost 50 countries where it has already been present.

Bonbonetti Group’s two flagship brands – the unique market leader alcoholic praline Cherry Queen and tibi, the last brand from the great traditional chocolates that still has been produced in Hungary – also look forward to the new opportunities as a result of the cooperation. The production of these popular brands remains in Hungary, in Bonbonetti’s factory in Budapest.

Bonbonetti that is mainly famous for its chocolate products will enter into new confectionery categories in the future as well.

After having changed ownership structure the investor’s objective is to develop the Hungarian production base which could create new workplaces at Bonbonetti Group.

Bonbonetti Group, Hungary’s chocolate factory with the highest capacity, produced the world’s biggest Christmas candy in order to draw attention to the importance of real chocolate and high nutrition value materials that mean quality in case of Christmas candies, too.

Giant Christmas candy weighted more than 200 kilograms that would total up to 20.000 normal Christmas candies. It was 3 metres long that would nicely decorate a 60 metres tall Christmas tree.

By producing the biggest Christmas candy in the world, the ultimate significant Hungarian chocolate factory found out an unusual method in order to point out the quality of Christmas candies. After many weeks of labour company employees working on this project successfully formed a marzipan mass that was dipped into dark chocolate, then wrapped into silver foil and tissue paper fringed on both ends according to traditional wrapping. The final sweet’s weight was more than 200 kilograms, and its length – 3 metres, so it could only be moved by a fork-lift trailer for the authentication of the record. The giant Christmas candy was 20.000 times heavier than the standard size one, so if you wanted to hang it on a Christmas tree, you had better choosing a minimum 60 metres tall tree. Of course, it didn’t happen, because the company offered the delicacy for charity in order to please many poor children on the eve of the feast of love.
